ABBAYE DE CADOUIN In the heart of the Perigord Limousin Regional Natural Park, the CPIE (Centre Permanent d’Initiatives pour l’environnement or ‘Permanent Centre for environmental Initiatives’) o ers year-round activities relating to the area’s natural and cultural heritage treasures: water; sustainable development; environment and biodiversity; history and prehistory; food and health; craftsmanship and artistic expression. In addition to participatory workshops, the children will discover several sites: Lud’eau Vive, a park dedicated to the uses of water and a garden of textile and dye plants; the castle of Varaignes (15th and 16th century) and the museum of weavers and “Charentaise” sleepers; the Royal forge of Forgeneuve in Javerlhac (which produced marine guns); the museum of iron and forges in Etouars; the museum for the prehistoric cave of Teyjat; the conservatory orchards of Etouars and Soudat; “Roc Branlant” and “Chapelet du Diable” in St Estephe; the millstone quarries in St Crepin de Richemont...
