211 ON THE ROUTE OF BERGERAC WINES Monbazillac and its magnificent chateau which proudly overlooks the valley of Bergerac, Saussignac and its bucolic hillsides, Pécharmant and the discreet of its beautiful residences, the soft hillsides of Rosette, like their sweet wine, the secrets of the “appellation” Montravel and its emblem, the Chateau and the famous Montaigne Tower. In the Bergerac vineyard, 140 winemakers (45% of which are organic or HVE (high environmental value) will welcome you and make you discover their domain with passion. On top of the tasting-sale, a range of wine touristic entertainment will be available. Art exhibition, pedagogical rides, gourmet markets, concerts, jazz aperitifs, food and wines combinations dinner, the program is available! The vast tourism office area will direct you to suit your taste and your humour to the day’s wine- activities. Treasure hunt in the vines on E-scooter, “sunset” aperitif in a domain with a breath-taking view on the hillsides of Montbazillac, discovery of the fauna and flora in the vines, the choice is yours. On the 1st floor, the Wine House, beside its spacious tasting lounges offers two fabulous terraces, one, panoramic, overhanging the Dordogne, and the other in the 17th century “Cloître des Récollets”. You may choose to taste your favourite “appellation” by the glass with a plate of Foie Gras or Perigourdian cheeses to share and plan your visiting program of the vineyards. And all summer long, in front of the Quai Cyrano, on the harbour, festivities take place (concerts, gourmet markets…) where the winemakers of every appellation join to in temporary bars.
